St. Louis, MO

With the addition this week of an order from South Dakota, Herbaria announced today that their Web site, www.herbariasoap.com, has now drawn customers from every state in the U.S.

The five-year-old company, based in Kirkwood, Missouri, first sold their all-natural handmade soaps at local fairs and shops. In 2003 they introduced internet sales and now have more than 2,400 online customers, many of whom place repeat orders. Sales have doubled every year.

Stores and boutiques from Hollywood, California, to Bethesda, Maryland, carry some of the 34 varieties produced by Herbaria. The Garden Gate Shop at the Missouri Botanical Garden is currently the single largest retailer of Herbaria soaps. Other successful retailers include the Levee Mercantile at the Gateway Arch and the popular Bug Store. This year the local Whole Foods introduced Herbaria products and sales have skyrocketed.

Ken Gilberg, president of Herbaria said, “We get excited about every new variety we make. Two new bars are set to release in the next couple weeks: Rose Geranium, with Australian pink clay, and a gorgeous purple French Lavender soap.”
