We enjoy a pesticide-free home and look for natural solutions to keep household intruders at bay. We prefer not even to kill them. To learn how to deal with the ants in our kitchen, we attended a seminar by a noted myrmecologist. (That was a new one for us, too!) The professor explained how ants communicate. They use scent, laying trails of pheromones to direct colony members to food they’ve found.

To discourage ants from exploring our kitchen counters and our cats’ bowls, we researched homeopathic remedies and then tested our own mix of essential oils. We hoped to mask their communication trails. It worked so well for us and for many of our friends that we thought you’d like it too.

We offer Ant Away in a convenient spray bottle. Simply mist your countertops, sills and floor where the ants travel. After four or five days, the ants will have given up trying to find their routes in your home.

Ant Away contains only clear essential oils and water. It is safe to use around children and pets, but we recommend you test it for staining on absorbent surfaces.
