Glycerin Soaps and Products

Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is colorless, odorless, viscous, sweet-tasting and non-toxic. It is formed in all of our soaps during saponification, when the oils and lye combine. We value the retained glycerin. It is a humectant, which attracts and retains moisture from the air. Glycerin is used in many commercial moisturizers.

Straight from the mountains of Europe comes the essential oil in our irresistible Silver Fir and Lavender. We chose this specific fir from many possible evergreen oils because of its soft, lovely balsam-like fragrance. To fully develop the bouquet of the soap, we added lavender and a touch of cade (Juniperus oxycedrus)—a smoky, cedar-like essential oil we hadnt offered before. We know many people love our Evergreen bar, which LaRee created years ago. It is an extra-exfoliating bar with oatmeal and seaweed. Silver Fir and Lavender is a smooth, creamy bar with French green clay. The clays micro molecules absorb excess oils, toxins and impurities from your skin, help you treat complexion problems, and tone your skin. Almond oil is added for extra moisturizing. You will adore this silvery-green bar.

We use another favorite essential oil, Sugandha Kokila, not well known in the U.S., but treasured in perfumery in this original bar. Kokila, commonly called laurel berry, comes from a tree that grows in the Himalayas in Nepal. We combined the sweet bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) and the laurel berry (Cinnamomum glaucescens), two stellar fragrances from the Laurel family. The result: this magically enchanting Sugandh Kokila soap. The fragrance is aromatic and spicy, camphor-like, warm and woody.

This might be the happiest bar of soap ever, a fragrant marriage of citrusy orange and sweet vanilla. Sniff closely and you will find that the tan swirls smell of vanilla and the bright orange swirls smell like freshly squeezed oranges. Each bar comes out slightly different, some more vanilla, some more orange. Thats the charm of it. To impart the yummy vanilla aroma, we use a natural vanilla infusion made with pods of the orchid Vanilla planifolia. The fresh orange scent comes from 5-fold orange essential oil.

Tea tree oil is well recognized for its active role in skin care.
