Exfoliating/Textured Soaps

The following soaps have added textures such as oatmeal or ground rosemary leaves that gently exfoliate your skin. Using these will make your skin smoother and silkier because you’ll be removing the surface layer of dead skin. Twice a week may be all one needs to exfoliate. Younger skin can tolerate more exfoliation, while older skin may be drier and more delicate.

The ones we use come directly to us from Egypt. Luffa aegyptiaca is a member of the Cucurbitaceae (gourd) family that includes squash, pumpkins and zucchini. When young and tender, sponge gourds are eaten. When mature, they are used for a natural scrub. You will see why luffas have been used for thousands of years. They have a perfect texture for the job: not too rough but just right.

If you have been a fan of our Indonesian Safflower bar, you’ll also enjoy this close cousin. Vetiver Walnut is more earthy; Indonesian Safflower a bit more floral. Finely ground English walnut shells add a scrub that invigorates and exfoliates your skin as you soap up. You will feel fully clean. To top off your skin care, we have added sweet almond oil for a soothing moisturizer.
