The romantic scent of this soap will brighten your spirits as you clean and moisturize your skin. The natural fragrance comes from the essential oil of Egyptian rose geranium. Palmarosa, another rosy-scented essential oil, moderates the sweetness to create a fuller and more complex aroma. The Rose Geranium bar is one of our few floral-scented soaps. We cannot use real rose extractions because they are prohibitively expensive, added only to costly perfumes. And our products never contain synthetic fragrance oils. Soothing, and gentle enough for sensitive skin, this soap promotes the body's natural ability to balance oil production. We add French pink clay not only to create the lovely pink color but also to provide its softening and conditioning qualities. Our emollient in this bar is avocado oil.

Rosemary has a long history as a favorite fragrance. Some time in the 1300s, it was the key ingredient in the famous perfume, Hungary water. Legend tells of a queen of Hungary, who, wearing the fragrance at the age of 72, captivated the King of Poland in a romantic liaison. For the next 500 years, until the French started producing eau de Cologne in the Eighteenth Century, no other herb enjoyed the popularity of rosemary either as a scent or as a natural remedy. No wonder one of our most beloved soaps is Rosemary. We blend three essential oils to create this scent. It is predominately rosemary but tempered with lavender and softened with rose-like palmarosa. Your skin will love the Rosemary bar as much as your nose. Finely crumbled rosemary leaves add a bit of texture. A healthy dose of hemp seed oil provides a lavish moisturizer.

In color and scent, Rosy Bouquet comes closest to the fresh bloom of a pink rose. It is musky, sweet, spicy, and heady. We have created this complex scent and beautiful color using six essential oils and pure henna oil. This bar has been years in the making because genuine rose oil would be far too costly to use in a soap and our products never contain synthetic fragrance oils. The henna oil we use is different from the powdered henna used for hair color and decorative skin art. We have not seen any sign of staining on skin or washcloths. Straight from the mountains of Europe comes the essential oil in our irresistible Silver Fir and Lavender. We chose this specific fir from many possible evergreen oils because of its soft, lovely balsam-like fragrance. To fully develop the bouquet of the soap, we added lavender and a touch of cade (Juniperus oxycedrus)—a smoky, cedar-like essential oil we hadnt offered before. We know many people love our Evergreen bar, which LaRee created years ago. It is an extra-exfoliating bar with oatmeal and seaweed. We use another favorite essential oil, Sugandha Kokila, not well known in the U.S., but treasured in perfumery in this original bar. Kokila, commonly called laurel berry, comes from a tree that grows in the Himalayas in Nepal. We combined the sweet bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) and the laurel berry (Cinnamomum glaucescens), two stellar fragrances from the Laurel family. The result: this magically enchanting Sugandh Kokila soap. The fragrance is aromatic and spicy, camphor-like, warm and woody.

Customers have been asking for a vanilla bar for many years but we steadfastly refuse to use synthetic fragrance oils. Recently, however, we have discovered a source for a natural vanilla infusion that we find absolutely delightful. You will too. You will love the homey, fresh baked, mellow fragrance of pure vanilla. Perhaps this is not a bar, but a cake of soap. And making this cake moist and rich is extra virgin organic coconut oil. The coconut also sweetens the vanilla scent. The cakes are a soft caramel color with tiny flecks of ground vanilla beans. Still, they are buttery smooth in texture.
