The lemony, floral notes of our Italian Bergamot bar come from essential oil of bergamot, extracted from the peel of an orange-like citrus fruit that grows in southern Italy along the Mediterranean coast. The bergamot essential oil we use is bergaptene free so theres no problem in regards to sun exposure. The soft, spicy scents in the soap come from lavender and clove, which blend with the bergamot to make an especially fresh and clean aroma. We add hemp seed oil as a skin softener. Aromatherapists believe that bergamot perks you up when you feel stress and anxiety. We think you will enjoy this delightfully fragrant soap.

As in premium licorice candy, star anise is what powers the aromatic olfactory pleasure. Then we added real licorice root to the soap. Thirdly, you will also smell the delicate fragrance of coconut. This note is not a synthetic perfume but comes from super rich, extra virgin organic coconut oil added for amazingly luxurious moisturizing. Our May Chang bar is guaranteed to energize your day and put you in a sunny mood. May Chang smells intensely lemony yet the fragrance is sweeter and fruitier. The bar is smooth and creamy with a golden yellow color from turmeric. What is may chang? It is the common name of Litsea cubeba, a member of the Laurel family growing in East Asia. Its leaves are loaded with citral, which also imparts the scent to lemon verbena. Lemon verbena essential oil, used in perfumes, would be too expensive to use in our soap. Besides, honestly, we think may chang smells brighter and fresher. The first-rate cleansing benefits of this bar work well for face and body. In addition, it is said to relieve oily skin and acne and provide a calming effect on the nervous system.

Rosemary has a long history as a favorite fragrance. Some time in the 1300s, it was the key ingredient in the famous perfume, Hungary water. Legend tells of a queen of Hungary, who, wearing the fragrance at the age of 72, captivated the King of Poland in a romantic liaison. For the next 500 years, until the French started producing eau de Cologne in the Eighteenth Century, no other herb enjoyed the popularity of rosemary either as a scent or as a natural remedy. No wonder one of our most beloved soaps is Rosemary. We blend three essential oils to create this scent. It is predominately rosemary but tempered with lavender and softened with rose-like palmarosa. Your skin will love the Rosemary bar as much as your nose. Finely crumbled rosemary leaves add a bit of texture. A healthy dose of hemp seed oil provides a lavish moisturizer.

We cannot use real rose extractions because they are prohibitively expensive, added only to costly perfumes. And our products never contain synthetic fragrance oils. We add French pink clay not only to create the lovely pink color but also to provide its softening and conditioning qualities. Our emollient in this bar is avocado oil.
